Big South Fork of the Cumbumberland
After getting his canoe swamped my friend and I fished the top side of a gavel bar. Mt friend tagged into a fish that fought like there was no end. 24" small mouth 4lb test. Unreal. Biggest small mouth I ever saw. Was hooked deep as we tried to revive it to no avale. He's having it mounted. Would like to post picture yet don't know how. Tried photobucket unsuccessfully once. Any other way?

Just because you don't like the river doesn't mean you have to call it names. Cumbumberland is not funny.
j/k

Great fish! Some friends and I take an annual trip to BSF. We have caught several SM of this size, mostly on flukes in riffles and eddies where current breaks are present. We have also caught some keeper walleye and had a few large muskies follow our baits to the canoe. BSF is for sure a great fishery and the scenery is absolutely stunning.
