McAlpine dam fishing from the KY side?
I'm going to be in Louisville Saturday afternoon and was wondering what the bank access was like on the KY side below the dam. If it's fishable, what sort of rig and baits should I bring to catch some fish? I figure the fish might be biting with this fresh water moving through. Any help is much appreciated.

This looks like an area below the dam on KY side I could fish: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=+38%C2%B016'23.89%22N,++85%C2%B045'34.21%22W&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=38.283044,-85.783428&spn=0.002868,0.004801&sll=37.335224,-82.30957&sspn=24.586445,57.084961&t=h&z=18&vpsrc=6
Am I right?
Re: McAlpine dam fishing from the KY side?
Yep. That's at the hydros. Its where most fish on the Ky side. I don't have a lot of experience there but from what i've seen on here before white or chartruese grubs on jig heads or swimbaits work well. If you want cats then take a sabiki rig to catch some shad and use them. Hope that helps. Good luck.
Re: McAlpine dam fishing from the KY side?
Thanks for the info. I just found out I can fish on the Indiana side with a KY license, so I may try there. Anybody have any recommendations on the suitability of bank fishing on one side or the other at certain water levels?

I don't, but there's been a lot of discussion about it on the board before that you should be able to find with a search. Try searching for stuff about Falls of the Ohio, and about Sauger.
