IU vs Purdue Minnow Bucket tournament this weekend!
Hey all,
The IU vs Purdue Minnow Bucket tourney is this Sunday November 6th at Lake Waveland. IU needs a few more boat drivers so if you are interested please give IU tourney director Shaun Gillenwater a call at 812-325-6447 for more details.
IU will cover gas money and your park/launch fees. The drivers will also be competing against each other for one big bass for a new rod and possibly a few other things, I am not clear on details but Shaun will know. We have done big bass pots and free IU club t shirts in the past as well but I dont know what they are doing for this tournament.
Pass this message around if anyone is interested in participating in the nation's oldest collegiate fishing rivarly this weekend! Thanks
Ryan Queen
Former IU Bass Fishing Club Vice President

Ryan.....Waveland is an interesting choice with its size and all. How many boats are in the tx? I fished it in July and loved the place, other than the 90 degree water! I bet it could be great this time of year though...I wouldn't be surprised if they bring in some huge stringers!!!
Re: IU vs Purdue Minnow Bucket tournament this weekend!
Ryan,
Please ask Shaun or someone on your team to get in touch with me next year, or if you need drivers regularly, please send me a list of dates and locations (by January or February). I know some anglers who may be able to drive your boats and would love to compete against other drivers also.
Who won the college tourney, IU or those boys up north? (Assuming you had enough drivers.) Which driver team won? Yes, number of fish and weights, please.
Re: IU vs Purdue Minnow Bucket tournament this weekend!
I think IU won. It was a rough day on the water with high winds and big waves. It was a deep water bite by the dam that seemed to be the best. I normally love fishing Waveland but water was down, wind was high, so you couldn't fish a lot of the spots that normally produce. Still, there were some decent fish caught so my hat is off to those college boys!
