Re: AP and USA/ESPN Polls
Honestly I think U of L is ovverrated for now. They don't even know who is healthy from week to week and their is no continuity yet. They have top 5 talent if everybody gets healthy, but at this time they are ranked to high. This is a good reason why preseason rankings mean squat.

I agree, Tim. UofL is a couple of buckets away from losses to Ohio University, Long Beach State, and Vanderbilt. I know, a win is a win....and with the injuries that UofL has sustained it's still admirable that they found a way to win those games. But all of that said, they are ranked too high. IF they had all of their weapons and had won convincingly, that's one thing.
Preseason rankings aren't worth jack, I agree, other than something to argue about. Part of me says that UK is overrated at #1, but I do struggle to name teams that I feel like are playing better than they are right now, with more potential. Possibly, Ohio State...especially after the convincing win against Duke. A convincing win against Kansas, then pulling one out against Carolina....I kinda think we've earned it. But there's a lot of ball left to play. For one, coming off the Carolina thriller, and going on the road against a hostile environment in Bloomington after a week off....could be recipe for a flat start and a let down game. We'll see.
Re: AP and USA/ESPN Polls
Bring the first polls out around the Middle of December or Latter just before Conference BB tips off. This was the easiest top 5 early to put out, UNC all coming back #1, UK lost a few kept Jones, Lamb and Miller plus McEEE Dee is sending the top rated class again which includes Davis and Kidd Gillchrist that are needed on the blocks plus shutting down the other teams scorer. Ohio State got most back, UCONN is UCONN, Duke is Duke. BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH
Real ball is not played in Nov or December. Come Jan 1 you better be ready to play. These rankings are ridiculous. Is there anybody here that loads up North Carolina and Louisville, put them on a neutral court and says best of 5. We are talking today's rankings today's eligible players, let's roll. From what i saw against Vanderbilt, Louisville has zero answers for Zeller, Henson, Barnes. Today, neutral site UNC 5-0 in the best of 5 with U of L. But rankings say that Louisville and their cupcake schedule with only one road game is better than what UNC has done so far. What a joke. I will say take the top 25 teams right now and tell their head coaches to list 3 teams that they absolutely DO NOT want to face for a chance at the title and Kentucky and North Carolina would be on everyone of the tickets.
Re: AP and USA/ESPN Polls
Tim I agree 100%. Splitshot I also agree 100% it is a very long season. I heard on the Dogs today, back 20+ years all the local teams were very good. It was a great time to be a sports fan. I agree! We are starting to see it again, and it is fun. Not everybody can be #1 but is sure fun to watch everybody around town and their teams.
