Re: Shaky Head Hook Styles
I need a pro's vs con's between a 60 degree flat eye, 90 degree vertical eye, or a 45 degree flat eye hook on your shaky heads. Im not sure about what degree angle is better. But I do feel that a flat eye (like on most football jigs) keeps the knot closer to the head and offers a little protection to the knot. Possibly a help in the hookset angle too. Thoughts? The 45 degree hook is only offered by Owner and it is their only shaky head hook they make. Anyone know of a mold that makes a 45 degree flat eye hook? Thanks!
I use both. I make my shaky heads with the flat eye or 90 degree. I personally like the 90 degree because of the line tie on top causes the worm's tail to a degree to rise more vertical when you pull the line.
The flat eye may come through brush a little better but I still prefer the 90*. I use Gamamatsu 614(4/0) & 114(5/0)
Re: Shaky Head Hook Styles
I like the 90 deg but you can use a dremel and modify the mold for whatever you want

I bought a doit mold and dremeled out the holes and filled them with JB Weld and made a replica mold - it works!!!!

I guess the JB Weld can withstand the heat of the lead?
