Anybody know of any good deep pools on Floyds Fork for smallies in the winter? What type of bait works best this time of year. Been trying tubes but have had 2 days with no luck.

I drifted down Floyd's Fork years ago during each weekend of February. We put in at Aiken Road and out at Fisherville (I think it was). I can't recall any particular spot where we caught our fish but I seem to remember we used Rooster Tails quite a bit. Good luck if you go.
We usually throw small beetle spins or small black curly tail jigs. You should get into some red eye on the warmer days. How is clear is the water? Are you seeing any drums? My bow fishing rig is calling me?
Water is mostly clear right now. Saw some drums towards the end of last summer but not since then.

Once the summer traffic picks up I stop going to the lakes and start fishing the streams with my ultra light gear. Never been in the winter but a Rooster tail is hard to beat in my opinion.
