The Gifts Keep on Giving....
Nothing like heading back to the hospital early this morning when a car pops the hill on my side of the road after just passing another car on a Double Yellow Line, all I have is him or the ditch and a rock fence. I took the ditch the rock fence, 2 flips and a slide and my Ford Explorer is totaled. The car that was passed came to a stop and called for help but it would take an hour and a half, the jaws of life and a lot of broken and bent metal to get me out. I am bruised from my left collarbone to my elbow, my right knee to my groin, every single rib, and a headache from heck. God sure does have a plan because he did not kill me again when a front passenger tire sitiing in the passenger seat and an Explorer that looks like a tin can and I am treated and released and sent home to hurt like crazy. It could have been worse, but no internal problems and even my 10 inche incision on my right side was still in tact. Never laid half upside down on my right ear and shoulder while the Jaws of Life tears apart your only New vehicle that after next months payment would have been mine. Pay 59 of 60 payments,, total it, and get what 75% per the insurance. That is about right with the Elnut luck.
Re: The Gifts Keep on Giving....
Dang Woody, glad your ok, other than all the bruising and pain from the accident. Yes it really ***** to have one almost paid off and have it totaled from a wreck that was not your fault.
Hope the cops got the guy who caused the wreck, or did he just continue on down the road and run?
Re: The Gifts Keep on Giving....
He continued on down the road. The lady that stopped did not get a good description or plate. He got of scott free. I will be the one that pays physically and financially for him driving like an idiot. But what else is new
Re: The Gifts Keep on Giving....
Man that *****! Not much worse than a scumbag like that!
Re: The Gifts Keep on Giving....
Sorry to hear about your accident but so glad you lived to tell about it. The bad part about an accident is that it takes days for all the sore spots to show up and then don't go away for a while.
Last May 22, I had a rollover accident (the truck rolled 5 times) down an embankment and into a deep ravine; it was a total loss. I was driving a 2010 F-150 Extended cab with 36K miles on it; no payments. The insurance company paid all but $10k but insurance is now killing me with premiums on the 2011 F-150 we replaced it with. They rated me as an "at fault" driver because it was a single vehicle accident --- I was pulling a U-Haul trailer, 45 mph, and the brakes locked up and it jackknifed. I changed insurance companies and they said I would be rated and have to pay higher premiums for three years regardless of which company I used. I argued that they were a different insurance company and hadn't spent one cent toward my accident and I felt that it was unfair. It didn't matter, I would have been rated just because it was an "at fault" accident. Now I am making an insurance company richer that didn't pay anything toward my accident.
I said all that to tell you to expect your insurance company to rate you as "at fault" and lay some heavy insurance premiums on you.
