Poor UK football...:p
Congrats to Louisville. I always liked Strong and when he went to UL I started liking that program. To me he is still a Gator.
Everything comes full circle in sports...win some lose some, up years, down years, up for decades, down for decades...with all this being said this is an exciting time for the University of Louisville Football Program...now I'm hoping Pitino retires early. :)
Charlie Strong is a good dude I really like the guy go a head and bash me for saying that. Just hope that guy on his staff didn't bring any of that baggage with him from Miami. Believe that was main reason that quarterback came to UL to follow that Miami guy. I remember reading that somewhere. Tim will look it up I'm sure. Don't believe Strong will be the kinda coach to jump ship with his success not as fast anyway. The Big East should be wide open for the taking. Sorry, but your stuck with Pitino til 2017 when Karen gets out of prison.
Clint Hurtt came to Louisville from Miami and he does play a role in the investigation down there. I will not lie, it makes me a little nervous having him on the staff, but I also don't believe Strong will let that kind of thing go on under his watch.
Teddy dcame to Louisville because Randy Shannon was fired as Miami head coach plus his best friend/high school teamate was already coming here. I know Louisville was recruiting him hard before he verbaled to Miami. Once he opened his recruitment back up, Louisville went after him again. The Florida recruiting is where its at and has been the backbone of most U of L football success in the past. Over 300 kids in the state of Florida play D 1 football on scholarship each year. Florida, FSU and Miami cannot get them all. The two linebacker recruits had offers from LSU, Auburn, Florida, Georgia and Ohio St. These are the kind of recruits the Cards need if they are going to compete on a national level again.
Congrats to The Ville for a good recruiting hall...another ESPN Top 25...Charlie Strong is a fine coach and I'd much rather have him than Joker Phillips.
Now that we've got the pleasantry out of the way (LOL), I will concede that it's better than Kentucky's haul. It is #25 according to ESPN, but it looks better via ESPN than it does Yahoo Rivals Network. It's #39 on Rivals. (Vanderbilt is #25 there, oddly enough.) The variance among recruiting networks always puzzles me.
From Rivals Network:
Right now for '12, Louisville has 21 commitments.
5-Stars = 0
4-Stars = 3
3-Stars = 15
<3-Stars = 3
Average Stars = 3.00
Rivals Top 100 Players = 0
Rank #39
Right now for '12, Kentucky has 23 commitments.
5-Stars = 0
4-Stars = 1
3-Stars = 18
<3-Stars = 4
Average Stars = 2.78
Rivals Top 100 Players = 0

Now that we're on this NCAA thing it really irks me that one person can destroy a university. Take for example Derrick Rose. He goes scott free to make millions. while Memphis takes the hit. Sampson at Indiana is another story. Tarnished IU yet the NCAA did slap him. Barring him from coaching or whatever for violations for what he did. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors yet supervision cannot be 100%. A booster can slip some cash or what ever. Yet the university takes the hit. I for one hope this guy tied in to Miami doesn't bring harm to UL. Although I don't root for otis I won't wish that upon them. Hate to see any of it going on. Hell my son was offered perks just to jump ship from his peanut league baseball team. hate to see any of it going on anywhere.
Looks like the jokers on the cards. What happened to the cards top 25 class? Everything I'm reading is showing the cards at somewhere in the 40's as the cats are in the 30's in signing class rankings. Am I looking at the wrong year? Why did the cards ranking go from top 25 to top 50?
I heard on the radio that this was a better recruiting class than last year. So I don't know, I know some sites have different ranking systems. I have not seen on any where they are higher than top 35. I did hear that UK had a better year than expected.
The Cats were the benefit of some over-recruiting at Alabama and landed a really good running back and that helped. Also, each site has its own ranking system based on points but they award points differently. Louisville ended up signing six 4 star recruits, three of them were linebackers, one safety and one corner. There was a huge need at linebacker and the secondary and they filled it with studs. They also signed five offensive linemen, which was also a big need. Two of these guys have d-1 size already, 6'5'' 310 and 6'5''320. They also may have gotten the steal of the year with Florida running back Brandon Radcliff. He was a late developing player who really didn't shine until his senior year and he looks like he is going to be a stud. Good size and great speed. His commitment cost U of L getting Anthony Wales of Central. As most here know, he was a kid I wanted for selfish reasons because he played basketball for me when he was young and I really think a lot of him and his mother.
Kentucky has two 4 star players and 15 three star players. They also have more kids signed which helps their ranking. They have more players, but they are not as highly regarded as some of the Louisville players
Btw, I would say the joke is still on Joker, because the in-state kids that don't go to Louisville are starting to head to WKU to play for coach Taggart. I look for WKU to be the second best program in the state behind Louisville very soon.
I'm seeing uk with four in state kids to ul's one. Unless the way math works has changed, I think ul is behind on the in state recruits this year. Also just noticed that ul is behind murray, eastern and western in the in state recruiting battle. But then again, I could be wrong.

Because UK and the other state schools can't recruit in FL and Louisville can. You don't need to be a recruiting genius to know that 3 star kids from FL are better than 3 star kids from KY any day.
