UK's shot blocker
A Davis is 6 blocks shy of breaking the record for blocked shots in a single season a UK. I think it's 6? I know someone will look it up. Tough game today as they play Ol' Rockytop in Knoxville. As was at Indiana going to be quite loud for these freshman on the road. Don't think those UT fans can hold a candle to the IU fans as them Hoosiers only that UT seats some 22,000 compared to IU 1,700 or however many they hold. You gotta love basketball!!

Re: UK's shot blocker
I wartched UT play early in the season and was not impressed. They have some bad losses. Now it is conference play, so anything can happen, but I cannot see UK losing to this team. To be honest, it wouldn't suprise me to see UK go undefeated in SEC play.
edited to add Davis is a shot blocking machine. His shot blocking reminds me of Pervis Ellison because he rarely swats it out of bounds, but keeps it in play and that often leads to easy baskets.

Hope he does today anyway.

Re: UK's shot blocker
Davis is the best internal defensive player I have seen come around in easily the last 10 years. I guess Ewing, Motumbo, and Morning in their prime at Georgetown were all pretty good defensively but as Freshmen, I will take Davis all day long. Gets his blocks and rarely fouls. He has more block shots individually than over 250 TEAMS.

Re: UK's shot blocker
What amazes me about Davis is that he's only been a post player for a couple years, after an amazing growth-spurt. He hasn't had years to refine the art of shot blocking. Amazing.

Don't know how these boys are doing it,but they are winning. That Tennessee crowd seemed like a piece of cake as numerous times you could hear the Go Big Blue Chant. The Kidd is something else takes a lickin keeps on ticken.

Vandy is the only game that worries me.
