Where is the best spot along Beargrass Creek to fish. The only place I have fished there is Big Rock and I am looking for a better place to fish for small mouths. Thanks

I would think the best place to fish Beargrass for smallmouth is NOT in Beargrass Creek. I have been up a little ways off the Ohio, and it is a big nasty garbagey mess. (Not sure if garbagey is a word, but I like it). I guess if you are trying for carp it might be good?
How deep does Beargrass get as it goes through Cherokee. Has anyone fished this much for panfish (bluegill, crappie, or rock bass). I always enjoy a good fishing trip to a place that I can wade and throw a line.
It's waist deep at the deepest, but I don't know for sure, didn't want to get poop on me. It offers good panfish and bass, I have even seen a few small cats(bullhead?) pulled out by the bait guys at a couple bridges. It is a great flyfishing challenge.

Is it really that nasty?

Uh, yeah. It is pretty gross.
Makes me want a fish sandwich from there.
