Laural F&F report 2/5/12

if I could ask for a F&F day Sunday would have been it, water temp 45 degrees, cloud cover all day, wind was just wright, we caught 1 fish, small mouth about 2 1/2 pd. was my second time on the lake, we tried to fish it like we fish Cumberland, were we have pretty good luck, bluff walls, points, and small pockets, 8-11 feet deep, tried a lot of different flys, we kept our bait wet, was quite a few boats on the lake, looked like most of them were fishing points

I hope some of you guys that fish the F&F on Laural maybe give us a few tips

Hey Gary,
Wished I could help you but I've FNF there twice a few years back and caught one smallie and about 8 big trout! I don't know but my partner and I thought about it and maybe we should have fished 12-14 feet deep? I fished Cumberland Saturday and caught 0 on the FNF. Did catch 3 on a silver buddy 20-25 feet deep. None on a jig, crankbait, jerkbait or FNF. Fished Main lake and Indian. Water was had a slightly stained greenish look to it (bout right for the shallow FNF bite). 47 degrees. I'm really shocked with the clouds and rain that all of bites came out of the deeper water.
Later Gary and you should take your skills to Dale, they can be caught on it there right now.

I hit Laurel last friday with an Alabama rig and jigs. Caught one small smallmouth on a tube jig, so I don't think they're hitting too much Laurel right now.
