Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
Vandy is much better than their record shows. With their Big Center, Ezeli, injured for most of their losses they are playing some good ball. Teague, Lamb and Davis played great for 40 min. Jones did his usual All American performance for 20 min then Houdini for the last 20. Miller and MKG were hampered by foul trouble all game. Vandy shot lights out the first 10 min of 2nd half and came from 13 down to take a 4 point lead. Crowd going NUTS, hitting every 3 that they threw up, Vandy's Seniors vs UK Freshmen, in that arena and the Big Blue pulled it out. Great win for the Cats and they may not lose another game all year. If Tenn can win at Florida and Georgia can win at Miss St then the Cats will have no problem. Now if Terrence Jones would play 40 mins EVERY game like he did after Cal put him on the pine in the first half, they would win every game by 20
Re: Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
What is it with him? Is he slow? Dense? Childish? Thin skinned? I see him acting like a 6 year old at times but is it just that simple....he is immature???
If so he will go the way of Cousins in the NBA.....making lots of money but but embraced as a serious player.
Btw.....that was a great game by Vandy and it did show that UK can win in a tough arena. Sure would like to see them play Syracuse! What a game that would be.
Re: Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
That was a good win and I think my statement that they would go undefeated in the SEC is looking more and more likely. I Don't see anyone else in the conference beting them.
I am not as impressed with Florida as others, there is just something missing there. Not only did Tennessee beat them on the Gators home court, but they also lost to Rutgers at home.
Don, as for Syracuse, they will be in the Yum Center tomorrow night! What is funny, no matter how good Syracuse is and what they are ranked, Louisville has owned them since joining the Big East. Louisville leads the series 7-1 and has won 7 in a row. Included in that are two wins in the 2009-2010 season. They beat #2 Syracuse at the Carrier Dome and then in the last Game of the season #1 Syracuse went down again. Not predicting a cards win tomorrow night, but it certainly wouldn't suprise me.
Re: Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
Not only did the BBN take over college game day and get under Diggers skin (you have to see video of Digger telling BBN it's Vandys day) they stayed together under pressure to win. This team doesn't have a big head and defiantly stays grounded. I hope Louisville beat"s Syracuse. So the cod fans will come out of the closet. Been a quiet year from OTIS not only on this board, but at work also.
Re: Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
Good to see the Cats get challenged, they almost throught it away.
Cards had a good game on the road.
Go Cats, GO CARDS!
Re: Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
If the gators are not hitting that three to open the floor up they usually have a hard time. especially against teams with more talent.
Re: Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
I don't watch Louisville but will be watching and rooting for ............. Louisville. There are a few teams that I can't stand and Syracuse is one of them. I also want to see this vaunted 2-3 zone that everyone talks about. I watched a small amour of the Georgetown / Syracuse game the other night and was not impressed.
As far as the Cats go, they will go undefeated in the SEC, win the SEC tourney, #1 Seed in the Southeast region where games are played in Atlanta ( Catlanta), win the NCAA tourney and be a miracle 3 pointer by IU from an undefeated season. From what I have seen, Syracuse I have not seen, the Missouri's, Baylor's, Duke's, UNC's of the world, if they all play their game UK wins. Kentucky plays the best Defense in America and they proved that again last night when Vandy never scored a point the last 4 mins of the game.
Side Note: I agree with Dicky V in that Anthony Davis will win every award possible this year and be the #1 Draft pick. Put AD on the Wizards with John Wall and sign a Free Agent scoring Small Forward and Shooting Guard that can make the 3 to stretch the Defense and you may have a decent team

Better hope Duke doesn't play their game because you'll be playing the refs also. Coach K works the refs every play and just wears them down until they start calling it his way to shut him up.
Look at that game Wed between Duke and UNC. UNC up 13 in the second half on a 30 something to I think 9 run and about to throttle Duke, well the refs call fouls against UNC on Dukes next 6 possessions and 14 out of their final 21 possessions to end the game while missing call after call on UNCs end. It's really sad the impact refs can have on a game.
Duke shot 36 3pters and 26 fts UNC shot 6 3pters and 30 fts.
And btw the way UNC should have won the game despite the refs but I've never seen anything like it with the calls in the second half.
Sorry if I sidetracked your thread and yes the Cats are going to be very, very hard for anyone to beat.
Re: Big Blue passes Huge road test at Vandy
Roy Williams and UNC CHOKED against Duke. Up Double Digits in the 2nd half at Home with "supposively" the Best Front Line in College Basketball and they lose. Duke has no inside game and they do not play Defense. I see Duke getting their usual Top 3 or 4 seed in the Big Dance and then battling Baylor as the first Top 3-4 seeds sent packing.

Notice I did say UNC should have won despite the refs but the fact that the refs basically gave Duke 8-10 pts in the final 2:30 of the game and called fouls on UNC 2 out of every 3 possessions for about a 15 min period in the second half should be enough to make any basketball fan beyond sick of the Duke ref bias.
Hopefully when the NCAA tourny starts they won't get the calls like they do during the regular season. Look at what happened to them against AZ last year in the tourny without the refs to bail them out.
