Gunterville Lake vandalism
I was reading on another fishing forum for lake Guntersville that people with Kentucky plates on their vehicles are having them vandalized down on the lake because the people from around lake guntersville are under the impression that everyone from kentucky goes down to their lake and keeps all the bass we catch.. I personally think this is insane that another grown man would vandalize someones vehicle because he thought just because someone has a Kentucky liscense plate they are down there to keep all their fish... What do any of yall think or has anyone hear heard any of the complaints?
Re: Gunterville Lake vandalism
My guess is that they are vandalizing vehicles with KY plates because our basketball team is kicking a$$ and Alabama is 5-6 in the SEC... :D
Re: Gunterville Lake vandalism
people who vandalize other peoples property dont need a reason to do it,thats just the kind of people they are! a person used to be able to go to the lake for the weekend and leave their equipment in the boat and nobody bothered any thing. now you go for 4 hours and you wonder if your vehicle will be at the ramp when you get back in. unfortunately, its a sign of the times.

I have heard of this happening down there, but not for those reasons. I heard there were some areas down there that you just flat out need to avoid. I would imagine the State park areas down there have some sort of authority presence that deters this kind of activity. There are people anywhere you go that will damage your property just to spite you because the stuff they have isn't as nice as yours. I believe that would be called envy.
Re: Gunterville Lake vandalism
I was at Wheeler back in the fall. I returned to the ramp and a guy ask me if I was a cop b/c I dont go anywhere without my SIG. I told him no. He said I should check local laws about packing a firearm in public. I told him about my second amendment and ask him if he'd ever been robbed and he told me yes. With my hand patting my weapon and somewhat of a smirk I told him I hadn't.
Re: Gunterville Lake vandalism
I am going to be down there March 4-6, but I am going to be driving my wife's car, so they can vandalize her stuff! LOL

Re: Gunterville Lake vandalism
The state park is good. Marine police headquarters are located there. Avoid roadside ramps, they are everywhere. People stealing trailers has also been a problem.
Re: Gunterville Lake vandalism
I don't think people in Alabama care to much about basketball, they have their eyes on the the pigskin, but since you are a UK hoops fan... How bout them HOOSIERS!
