Friday's storms
I have watched all the coverage the last two days and my heart is just broke for all these people. First and foremost for all those that lost their lives and the ones left behind that loved them. Then to see so much destroyed, what people have worked their whole life for to see it litterally just gone in mintues. Insurance can't replace everything, no way...
God bless all invoved and my we all say a prayer tonight for all these people hurting so bad..

I agree 100%. We need to all remember, even though the weather is gone, the storm rages on. It will for quite a while for some and forever for others. Our Father designed prayer for such instances.

Re: Friday's storms
I live about 3- 4 miles from where it went through Chelsea IN at. I am 40 years old & have never seen anything like this. It is horrible. I went down County Rd. 362 on Saturday afternoon & when I came up on the place where the tornado crossed the road I broke down, literally. There were houses totally gone. Frames from single wide trailers laying twisted & mangled in the fields, the living quaters, totally gone. One house on Hwy 62 with half of it 100 yds from is foundation & turned around backward, the rest was gone.
Our bass club is trying to get a charity tournament together for this horrible, horrible tragity. There are phone calls being made as I type this trying to get this arranged.
I just wish there was more I could do to help these people out. My family donated some food to the Red Cross set up there in Chelsea.
Our thoughts & prayers to ALL the storm victims.

Re: Friday's storms
The schools are closed here in Pendleton county, not because of the 2 inches of snow we got last night, but because of the 200 families who were affected by the tornadoes, because of my spinal injury I am unable to help in the cleanup, but I opened my home to a friend of my youngest son and his family who lost everything. My former employees who I'm also good friends with all took off work and have donated their time, vehicles, and equipment to help whomever they can,we all have family and friends that were hit.

You are a good man Glenn. I am sure your friend appreciates it very much. I read about the infant that was found alive laying in a field 100 yards away from the child's trailer. The trailer had been destroyed. The infant was 14 months old ended up passing away yesterday after the family made the decision to take her off life support. I found out last night that her Dad, Mom and 2 siblings had died in the storm as well. Talk about a family devastated. Initially all I could think about was my 13 month old Granddaughter when they found the baby alive in the field. Then last night after hearing the Grandparents had to make the decision to take the baby off life support, my heart sunk even more.

Yes,I've been keeping track of the baby and was sad to find it had passed away this morning. Now I'm outraged at all the shyster Insurance companies that evidently paid National Weather Service Inspectors to claim the damage in the Peach Grove area of Pendleton and Campbell county wasn't a Tornado but a "Back Draft" whatever that is supposed to mean,it evidently exempts these crooks from paying for the damage. Here are some pictures from this area.

Re: Friday's storms
Back draft my ass....I see Gov Beshear jumping all over that one. It won't stand Glenn, they ain't gonna get away with that crap surely to goodness....

Re: Friday's storms
I agree with Mark...Backdraft my ass!! Actually if the insurance companies want to witness some backdraft then send them out to my house today...just had a colonoscopy this morning and as part of the process they pumped me full of air....so I got their backdraft right here!
All kidding aside...I have always hated insurance companies with a passion. But I believe what you say though...they will come up with any term imagineable in order to try to worm their way out of covering someone who files a claim.

Re: Friday's storms
I worked in Pekin all day yesterday helping sort through volunteer donations and then debris removal for the afternoon. An abundance of devastation. Can't imagine what Henryville looks like. If you live around an area that was hit and are able and can spare the time try to lend a hand. Just walk up there's plenty of work to be done.

Re: Friday's storms
My heart goes out to all the storm victims and their families.
I found out this weekend that a single person in the state of Alabama was killed. It was Todd, my best buddy before I left home for the service years ago. Driving down tonight for his funeral tomorrow. Jeez.
