Heard it on the radio and it sounds pretty nasty. They mentioned a few local butchers who don't use that filler. I say heck with it buy steak!
I havent bought any beef from a store for a long time. Not because of this but my dad always raises a beef for my family. After seeing this  I am calling dad and tell him to get another one ready, im running low!;) My goodness that was nasty.
That which does not kill us only makes us stronger............... I hope.:)
Do people who process hamburgers get nose colds?
I'm surprised it doesn't have some sort of chemical/clinical/laboratory name instead of just "pink slime".
No worries here...hardly ever eat ground beef or ground chuck anyway.
IMO that pink slime crap that schools and many restaurants are serving should be banned completely. McDonald's was called out on it last year by chef, Jamie Oliver. At first they denied serving it but after Oliver continued showing proof and called for a boycott of McDonald's, they stopped serving it. Now some other fast food restaurants claim they have stopped serving it, as well.
The pink slime is waste beef containing ammonium hydroxide---essentially nothing more than dog food. The government is buying 7 million pounds of the Pepto-Bismol colored meat for school lunches.
If I had a child in school, I would raise more hell than a mule in a tin stable. It's not surprising there are so many sick, overweight children if that's what they are being fed.

Do you want to know if the pink slime is a mixture of snot and boogers? Let's ask Tyme; he probably knows more about mad chemistry than anyone else on this board. lol
