Very sad new.....I hate to see someone if our fishing community die chasing a dream.
Wejebe was always chasing blue marlin.....had so many hookups but never boated that particular fish and I remember the shows he dedicated to boating the blue. I can remember seeing the pain in his face each time he would hook up, fight for 45 minutes and lose the fish on some freak incident.
He was very accomplished with a fly rod and his tarpon shows (along with other saltwater species) will be missed greatly. Prayers sent for his family and close friends. I hate to see fishing pioneers, freshwater or saltwater, meet thier demise chasing what they love to do.
oh man that is terrible. my uncle is a photographer for the miami herald and did a few stories with him over the years. i was fortunate to meet him several years ago....a heckuva nice guy and probably the most intelligent fisherman ive ever met. he was a true study of the marine environment, one of those "never satisfied" kind of guys.
terrible loss
Wow that's crazy I just watched his show today. That's a terrible loss to the fishing community. He will be missed
