Syria
I just can't believe what we..as a free nation...with the power to stop the killing of innocents by the hundreds...and maybe by the thousands by the end of the week. I thought a Pres. of the USA once said... "we wouldn't allow this to ever accure in any part of the world ever again"....Well guess what...it is happening now for over a year. But...yet we do nothing. We don't have to be afraid of Russia...or China. We have no buisness saying were going to attack another county for possible WMD's / nuks, or what ever...if we can't even stand up for freedom first in the 21st century! Freedom comes first...lead by example. We've had the leadership in the past..but we sure lack it now, by a long shot! There are just some that can't wait till Nov.
NOW is the time to attack the AXES of evil...with all we have. We can't afford to sit around and wait for Syria to kill 10,000 people this year...and 10,000 the next time!! We can't sit around and let North Korea build an arsanal of even 20 nuks. We can sit around and let Iran build an army of fanatics or any kind of nuk! Can you imagine living next to a country that can wipe you off the earth in 15 min tops; and threatens to do so every month...Sorry, I couldn't live like that ever. I sure am a US citizen...but also Im a member of the human race. I hate to say it...but we need to stand up again. Im **** surprised the South's gov. would allow their country to live in such shadows of death...Now with nuks!!! Now is the time fellas...we are at the cross roads for sure. You can paint it anyway you want...say all is OK..all will work out, or go about your day and not even think about it! We need to hit them now and hit them so hard and fast..crush their govermments..lay them to rest. Be done with this crap once and for all...or atleast for another 60 years. And if Russia..or China wants some..and they think their people lives are worth it for these idiots..lay them down as they come! Sorry for the rant; I just neede to vent I guess...but Gosh **** people...can't believe we arn't making a stand; when we are really needed ...a stand needs to take place...and it was yesterday!

Re: Syria
Unfortunately, there is no STRATEGIC reason to get involved.
Plain and simple.
How about let the United Nations take the lead on this, and RESOLVE IT. If our national interests, our environmental, or our ENERGY interests were at stake, I'd say get involved and bomb them into the stone age.
This is like the Sudan or Darfur......THOSE were also not in our strategic interests.

Re: Syria
And to add to what Geo stated, Syria and Iran are close allies. Start messing in Syria and you are also taking on Iran. We let the Arab league handle things, and nothing came of that. If Syrias neighbors are not willing to do much, why should we jump in where so many already hate us. No worth it.

Re: Syria
John Mccain, would have troops on the ground today. if he had been elected, instead of Obama. he wouldn't care that America was bankrupt, as long as there was fighting going on. it's sad whats happening in Syria, and a dozzen other country's around the world. but Syria has neighbors all around them, why not let some of their next door neighbors help them, instead of the USA having to go half way around the world to their rescue. but then they could ask China for another war lone, and then after going into Syria and spending it. like Iraq, and Afghanistan, would Syria be any better off. China sure would, the interest on a war lone isn't cheap.

Hmmm.... so we should stop the carnage by killing them all... Mr Fisher, if that is what you meant you seem to have a very skewed understanding of what is right and wrong... We cannot save the world from itself and we need to do more minding our own business and letting them mind theirs.
-
Re: Syria
Might not be a popular opinion but we need to learn to mind our own business more. IMO we are not the world police. Let's continue to fix our problems here, lick our wounds and heal as a nation before we continue to get involved. If we are threatened we should act swiftly with deadly force and move on untill then I'm good with protecting our borders and fixing what's broken here. Jmo.

Where did he say that?
"How about let the United Nations take the lead on this, and RESOLVE IT. If our national interests, our environmental, or our ENERGY interests were at stake, I'd say get involved and bomb them into the stone age."
You got some type of "kill them all and let God sort 'em out" out of that post?

I don't believe bombing somebody into the stone age would be an appropriate action for us to take against any country unless that country has attacked us directly... I believe Mr. Fisher overstates his feelings in some debates that we see here.

Re: Syria
I think the problems of the world should be handled by the worlds leaders. We are all in this together and there is no reason that the US has to be the leader and make the decision to go in there with your guns blazing. We are all on a team as seen in the war on terror. Let the UN decide together what should be done. Isnt that what they do? Just what I think. I think you should be fighting to bring your troops home so they can rest and be with their families and let Iraq and Afghan handle their own countries. The head of the snake was cut off when bin laden and his 2 top leaders in Yemon were killed and we have seen nothing from them since. They are still there but severely wounded for now. It will take them years to rebuild themselves. Time to bring your men and women home and fix your own country first.

I thought I was pretty clear about American interests and bombing. Too bad you're not capable of understanding what I stated.

Re: Syria
Yea lets just keep our troops over there in middle east, lets deplete our resources, contionue to poor dollar after dollar into a war that will never be over, there has not been peace there and never will until christ himselve comes back, so it is written, so I am told. Yes the humanitarian thing to do would be help them, but WE CANNOT, period, this country is BROKE, from war and big gov spending, we cannot protect our own borders from the invading "drug cartels" coming in from south of the border. We as a country need to worry about our own, everyday we have " mass killings", exacutions, beatings, etc within our own borders. We as a country spend billions each year feeding the starving of the world and we have starving childrfen here and we give our people food stamps, Something very wrong here, we need not to worry about any country that HATES us, wise up peps, Syria, you think they are really our friend, arent they a muslim country also? I say pull us out completly from them over there, secure our own borders, drill our own oil, build our own products, quit importing items that can and should be made here and quit exporting our jobs and money. If the mddle east wants to destroy themselves let them have at it, they have been trying since the dawn of man, let them be.We cannot stop it, never will. So why butt in. Bin Laden won his battle, he made a statement, his "mission was accomlished" he set out to ruin the US's finiaical system and make is go broke, he did just that, didnt he? Thats what the rad muslims wanted they got it. A little match started a big fire.
