Re: The recent cold weather
So I went back today, waited till about 11 to give it a chance to warm up a little. Made myself slow down and fish a little deeper, with worms, lizards, and tubes of various colors. Caught 3 in 2 hours. I had a white spinner bait tied on another rod, so I thought what the heck. First cast was in the moss, I burned it back cleaned it off and cast again. Reeled about 4 turns and got it smashed, bass hit it so hard about jerked the rod out of my hands. Got it in, making an honest guess, it was about 4 1/2 to 5lbs. Then had to leave to pick the kids up from school. That pond is driving me insane. I can not figure it out. I think I need to find an old crank telephone.......
Re: The recent cold weather
Yeah the cold weather has put a hurtin' on me too. Good ol' spring weather... gotta love it. I know you said you used worms but you might wanna try a senko or Dinger rigged wacky style if you havent already. That's my go-to when the largemouth wont hit anything else. I'll use a smoke color with black or red flake for bright sunny days and green pumpkin or tequila sunrise for cloudy days. Hope this helps!

Thats a great idea! I think I will sneak back over there in a little bit. I know there are some nice bass in there and there is nothing like a good pull on the line. Thanks for the tip.
Re: The recent cold weather
air temp. doesn't warm up the water, the sun does. The increasingly longer days and bright skies raise the water temperature. Muddy water warms up faster (suspended solids) as well as shallow flats with clear water (sun warms the bottom).

I can agree with that to a point. It can be as clear as possible and 30 degrees and that will cool the water down.
