Was thinking about making a trip to taylorsville lake to do a little catfishing. i know its still a little early in the year but i was wondering if the fish have moved up and started feeding a lot with the warmer temperatures. Are the flatheads or Blues running yet?
Been catching several while crappie fishing and saw people catching several jugging. Chasing shad in the shallow areas and mouths of creeks from what I have seen. I think they are biting pretty good out there for this early in the year.
I'm heading there Friday and jugging. Hope the weather is nice. although I'll be using shad, I have some left over hot dogs soaking with garlic and chicken livers from last week.....just gonna try that out since I have it.
Saw some ole boys catching a few last week up in ashes creek.
went today....20+ jugs out and not one bite with cut shad, chicken livers, and hot dogs. 5 other boats between Chowning and Van Buren jugging and one had over 100 jugs. NOT ONE SINGLE BITE!!!!

That's not legal is it?
I dunno if its legal or not but it sure does make me mad when im trying to hurry and drive to my fishing spot in a tourney etc and i have to navigate though 50 jugs... I just don't get it.
50 jugs is the boat max.

this is new to me. I thought it was 30 per person. There were 3 guys in it and they were everywhere.

Well, I'll tell ya this much. I had about 70 yards of the shore covered on the far side of Van Buren. So...there's what.....400+ yards to go around me right? This sumabitch drove right through them. If I had a rock I would have thrown it at him. It the fish were hitting hard I would have driven up to him ready to brawl. That was BS!!! 400+ yards of open water and he HAD to motor right through my lines.

Yep its 50 per boat not 50 per person. Page 16 of the fishing guide.
I hate when they put those dang things all the way across the main lake down towards the marina! What are they trying to catch anyway a kid on a tube? I drive around them but what are you gonna do when they go all the way across? I dont get that!
