Elkhorn Creek

I would like to wade the Elkhorn. What sections can I wade? Where is there parking? Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

You can wade on the TN Sullivan WMA. There are also some new access spots that recently opened. KDFWR has a lease agreement with some private landowners. I am not sure exactly where they are but you can call KDFWr (1-800-858-1549) and ask to speak to Lee McClellan. He knows every inch of it and where all the new access points are.

I dont know what area of elkhorn u r wanting to fish but there are a couple around frankfort if thats somewhere u would want to try, just let me know. I fished one yesterday and got a smallmouth about 3 lbs. and one around 2 lbs. and a lot of little ones.

I'd go as soon as possible. May 5 is the next full moon and probably will be a mega-bedding time. They need to be left alone during that time, IMO.
