If you fish laurel lake Flatwoods area be warned!
Just got back from flatwoods boat ramp tonight and me along with a few others had a bunch of stuff stolen.I had someone Cut my entire exhaust system off my truck ,stole some trailer lights and so far that is all i know they got. Also i have heard reports of Complete boat trailers being stole from that area also not to mention wheels etc etc.So if you fish that area and unload from that ramp make sure you lock everything down.It is getting rough in that area.
It is a shame to as that is a great ramp and parking area.We have to pay to park in that area or we get a ticket,so am i the only one that think's if we have to pay to use those facility's then our vehicles be looked after.I know they say it is patrolled but i have only seen one instance of it being patrolled and that was when i got a ticket for not having my pass.So i paid my fine as it was my fault ,then this happens .Now i am out 200+ to fix my vehicle

Man they need to do something about that place. I have never been there but here about this kinda thing there all the time.

I swear thieves should be shot on site and left as an example of what's coming to the next one caught stealing! Cannot stand a low down spineless thief!

Are any of the ramps at Laurel regularly patrolled? The Marina? Go there all the time and put in at Flatwoods or Marsh Branch and have never seen anyone patrolling that ramps.

Sorry to hear you have been violated...
I agree there should be a responsibility for the owners of the ramp to do something to keep your vehicle safe from damage...
In this day and age of electronic survellience it is completely unacceptable for them to not have some type of camera there...If not even a real one a fake one would deter most....

Stuff like this makes me sick! I'm sorry to hear about your loss. It is a really sad world we live in these days.

Pill-billies. They'll steal you blind for a dollar to get their next fix. They probably stole your exhaust for the platinum in the catalytic conv. and the trailer lights for the copper wiring. It's getting pretty darn ridiculous.

Re: If you fish laurel lake Flatwoods area be warned!
Theifs were a problem at another ramp at another lake my club fishes. As President at the time I called the Corp. Then I wrote a letter to the local sherrifs department and to the county tourism commision. The ramp started to be patroled which stopped the garbage. If that county doesn't have such a commision I'm sure a letter to any county government agency would help, perhaps human resources. Many times the local authorities are unaware of the problem. Make them aware and hold them responsible.

AFAIK both marinas are not only patroled but monitor with video as well.
