Re: First trip to caverun
Be careful going up the lake and make sure you have a gps or map. As you move up the lake there is tons of submerged trees. Seen plenty of people end their trip early.
Re: First trip to caverun
Make sure you buy a lake pass for the time you will be there.
I would load at Scotts Creek and fish in Scotts Creek.
This is always a good productive area. The water is clear and the Bass can be tough to catch!! This lake can humble a fella pretty quick. I like this area and I like The lower end of the lake down by the River including Zilpo Flats and the clay lick area. Make sure you get a a good map and stay way out from the flats. Good Luck
Re: First trip to caverun
I would recommend fishing out of the Longbow ramp. There are millions of stick ups and downed trees. This area always produces crappie and has fair bass production. The area can be dangerous when running at high speeds, but this also means that there will be very little traffic in the area and that makes for a better day of fishing. You can idle around from spot to spot and make a good day out of it. The channels are clearly marked. Good Luck...
Re: First trip to caverun
We are actually staying around Longbow. I think we may just stay around there and see how it goes 1 day, maybe go up a little further the next.
