Try Barren at one of the parks or Green in the northern part of the county.
Shanty Hollow up north as well.
Go here > http://fw.ky.gov/app/fisheries/waterbody.aspx and put Bowling Green in as the city. It will give you the water bodies and when you click on them it will give you the access points. If you click those it will poop you out some google maps of the spot.

I'd go to Barren.
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks guys
You try any of those spots yet?

I just went to the KOA paylake today due to a friend not having his fishing license and wanting to go last minute. I will be going again next week and will try some of the other spots. Caught some pretty decent cats and have already cut them up and put them in the freezer. Thanks for you advice and links, they will come in handy in the near future!
Do you mind telling me how much that koa charges?

Sure. $15 for a 4 catfish limit or $10 catch and release. Open at 7am close at 7, I think. Better go when they open or late afternoon, not much biting around lunch, it's too hot.
They say the deepest area is 24ft by the bridge and tree. I caught my biggest cat there.
Went to 3 Springs lake yesterday. Only stayed for an hour or so, but didn't catch anything. A guy near us caught one with his first cast, but it was about half as big as it needed to be to keep. Primetime for fishing was 9:30 am to 11:30 am and we were there from about 8:00 am to 9:00 am. We didn't even get a nibble. You should know that we are rookies when it comes to fishing.

Three Springs was a complete bust this morning. Went when the park opened and left at 10AM with nothing. I will be trying some of the other recommended fishing areas next week. It was still great to get out even though I did come home empty handed!!!
I'm a little late with info but this place is in franklin, just min. from BG, good boat and/or bank access. For more information follow this link: http://fw.ky.gov/pdf/westforkdrakes.pdf
