Going to be down there camping at Axtel from Friday through Monday with the fam damily and was looking to slip out at daybreak for a few hours each morning. Any bluegill bedding down there? Crappie still around? Hybrids in jumps? Any help appreciated, this is more of a family trip, but I refuse to be around that much water without fishing each morning.

Haven't seen any hybrid jumps yet this year. Fished all day Saturday, caught bass here and there but nothing to brag about, only 2 keepers. Did see bluegill all over the place though, especially back in small coves. You should be able to catch them no problem at all. There were also a lot of gar towards North Fork, hooked into a big one with a crankbait and was very disappointed when he surfaced, though I had a 6lber on for a minute :rolleyes:
