Sorry, but I can't help you on the "tips" portion of your questions. I don't fish Rough River Lake, and I rarely Bass fish.

Re: Rough river water level?
Water level is 6 ft below summer pool. The morning and late bite is good on buzzbaits and popr's.
They are picking up a few on main points on carolina rigs and rattletraps during afternoon hours.
The beachs are closed due to low levels but expect heavy traffic on the main lake this weekend.
Hope you have a Great & Safe holiday and please remember our Vet's
Re: Rough river water level?
I'm heading to Rough in about 5 hours. My aunt told me her dock is on the ground so I'll have to park my boat on the beach/shore at night. Also, no rock jumping this weekend b/c of this. Glad to hear the fish are biting. I'm gonna try some trolling with Alabama rigs and do some gill fishing with the kids too.

Re: Rough river water level?
heading to Wally in an hour or so to buy some A-rigs. Sadly I have no down riggers. How deep do these things run with just the 5 baits on them? How much weight will I need to add to get them to 14-15 feet?
I know I have to buy some braid while I'm in there.
