Question on fiberglass boat paint
I've removed a transducer that was mounted in the hull of my Ranger R72. It had been placed in epoxy and I had to use a Dremel to cut through most of it, then a hack saw to get underneath it.
When I finish I'm going to have some spots of the fiberglass showing and was wondering how I should seal that. The interior has what looks like primer paint with stripes of white paint on it. Can I just use primer on it and then mount the new transducer on that or is some other prep needed?

Re: Question on fiberglass boat paint
I emailed Ranger and received a reply. I'm posting in case the question comes up for someone else.
Ranger said the transducer should be mounted on the glass, no primer. After mounting I can use any primer paint, like from Lowes or Home Depot, to paint around it. So that's what I'll be doing this weekend. New transducer should be here by then.
