lake cumberland walleye
Fished today, I caught two 18 inchish while trolling at 29 feet at noon while it was stinking hot waiting for the cool down around five. then started pulling crawler rigs at the same depth, nothing at all! the spinner rigs have been nothin thus far all year. is it me???? or bad karma. cant wait for the lake to go back up and the eyes get in the brush that has grown, they will get big, as well as everything else except for stripers

You used to post walleye fishing reports on cumberland years ago, right??
Nice seeing you back.

Its been tough the last few years. I manage to get one or two each time out. If it weren't for the cat fish and big blue gill it would be boring. Its hard to catch any in 4 to 6 LB range any more. I've had better luck if you want to call it that with three way rig and a blue chrome or chartruse Walleye diver or rapala in the same colors at 1 MPH or less in the 20 to 30 foot range. Maybe in a few years it will be good again. I got Jeff Stanton ( I think thats how his last name is spelled) as a guide about 15 years ago that got me hooked on Walleye fishing in some of the Lakes here in Kentucky.

Been doing the same in the evening and at night. Cannot catch anything on bottom bouncers but have been catching a couple each time out on bomber flat raps. About a month ago I had an eight walleye day. It was one of the cooler cloudy days and they were at 15'-20'. Lately I have been catching them in 25'-30'. Biggest was just under 3lbs. Black and white have been the color for me. Been catching a bunch of crappie each time out though. The crappie seem to be doing really well.

Had plenty hit me while waking plugs for stripers at night this spring. As usual, I only hooked up with a couple. Only time that I've really caught any. Never tried for them other times of the year.
