Fishing with Onemorecast56
I always have fun when Onemorecast56 is on my boat. I defer to his expert knowledge of the river and let him drive my boat and take charge. Plus the fact that I'm lazy and I'd just as soon have him work the trolling motor.
I asked him if he liked to play pic-up-sticks when he was a kid. He's got 6 rods on the front of the boat, all pointing in different directions ready to fall overboard. He'll pick up one that is under three others but he hasn't lost a rod yet. Remarkable.
Patience? He has none. We are constantly moving to new spots as he really doesn't "fish", he "hunts". He has never met a stranger. That man will start a conversation with a big head carp if it will listen to him gab. But that's what I like about him.
When we recovered the boat the other evening, there was a pick up truck parked just to the side of the ramp, but still on the ramp. Typical ramp fishermen. They weren't really in my way and when I got out of the boat to go get the trailer, I recognized one of the fisherman. I stopped for just a moment to chat and went on and retrieved my truck. After I had backed down the ramp, there was Doug chatting with these guys as if they were long lost pals. As is typical for Doug, he gave them the skipjacks that we had caught earlier.
If any of you ever get a chance to fish with Onemorecast56,jump on it. He'll teach you a thing or two and he's a lot of fun to have on board.
