We have put my buddy's john boat in there and used the trolling motor to go up to the confluence of Floyd's Fork. We were flipping tubes, there is a ton of wood cover through there and we caught a few smallmouth and my buddy had a spot but it wasn't as good as what I had hoped.
hey Bassking,,get ahold of me and we`ll go to the river
Been my experience that spring is the best time to fish it. Have landed white bass, smallmouth, largemouth and crappie at that time. Also pretty good fishing the holes for catfish. Haven't cought any large ones (catfish) personally but have heard of several being landed.
Doug im ready when you are ( well M-F after 5 , but free all weekends )

I just moved to Shepherdsville a few months ago. Cross over Salt River every single day. I was unaware that there was a boat ramp near by. From the bridge, the water doesnt look deep enough for a bass boat. Let me know if you end up going and how you do.

jlblak, it depends on where you are crossin. At the 61 bridge it is not even close, but upstream it is deep enough. I would not put a bass boat in, but a john boat, or even an aluminum Bass Tracker style will work. There is a lot of wood cover in the river. The boat ramp is right off the 117 exit behind the conference center by Kart Kountry.
Is there any decent fishing by the boat ramp there? Mainly looking for smaller catfish, but would fish for anything that will bite worms and cut bait.
