I'll be spending a week at Nolin in mid-November and plan to fly fish for at least one day on the tailwaters. I'll be fishing from the bank/wading and plan to fish the standard beadhead nymph patterns unless I see lots of bugs and/or fish rising. Will probably throw some wooly buggers or similar streamers if things are really slow.
If anybody has fall and winter tips for this area please let me know. Thanks!!
I'll be at Nolin this weekend without a boat. Anybody know what the tailwater conditions are? I'd like to take my fly rod and do some trout fishing below the dam. Thanks for the help.
I fished their early in the fall but unfortunately I rode down with a friend and left my fly rod at home. I will not leave it next time. Caught twenty or so on the 1/16th gold panther martin a.k.a. "the trout destroyer" before I quite counting. Would have been like Bill Dance or something if I had but one size 14 BH PT or Hare's Ear. Stockers are silly. You should have a good time.
