Veterans

[B]More than [/B][B]1,000[/B][B] American soldiers have lost their lives in Afghanistan in the last 27 months. This is more than the combined total of the nine years before.[/B]

[B]Thirty have died in August. During the last month, over 50 additional NATO and US servicemen have been murdered, inside jobs by those who are hired to be a force for good in Afghanistan .[/B]

[B]The commander in chief is AWOL. Not a peep, although [/B][B]he ordered the White House flag flown at half staff for the Sikhs that were killed. There is a deep disgust, a fury, growing in the ranks of the military against the indifferent incompetence of this president.[/B]

[B]It has taken on a dangerous tone. No one knows what to do about him, but the anger runs deep as the deaths continue with no strategic end in sight to the idiocy of this war.[/B]

[B]Obama has had 4 years to end this futile insanity, during which time he has vacationed, golfed, campaigned, and generally ignored the plight of our men and women in uniform.[/B]

[B]But, there is now a movement afoot in the armed services to launch a massive get out the vote drive against this president.[/B]

[B]Not just current active duty types, but the National Guard, Reserves, the retired, and all other prior service members. This is no small special interest group, but many millions of veterans who can have an enormous impact on the outcome of the November election if they all respond.[/B]

[B]The million military retirees in [/B][B]Florida [/B][B]alone could mean an overwhelming victory in that state if they all show up at the polls. It might not keep another one hundred U.S. troops from dying between now and November, but [/B][B]a turn out to vote by the military against this heart breaking lack of leadership can make a powerful statement that hastens a change to the indifference of this shallow little man who just lets our soldiers die[/B][B].[/B]

Tyme, I will forward your thread as an email and I ageee with the thought that the Military needs to be voting more now than they did in any previous election. However, just the opposite seems to be the case. I have read several articles and seen several news casts about the low military turnout for this election. AND, according to some of those souurces, those that are planning to vote are planning to vote for Obama. Go figure I can't.

Kinda hard to get focuses on politics when your are returning from or preparing for a deployment. I'd guess the folks voting for Obama are just glad he's set a withdrawal date so they can slow or stop their rate of trips to the sand box.

So looking out for our comrades currently in the service and in harms way, how about us retirees/survivors vote 4 times on their behalf to pick up the slack.

I bet we could, if we just showed ID at the first voting spot, and then spoke Spanish at the next 3.

Almost sounds like four years ago when I never encountered one single solitary soul who was going to vote for Obama...but he ended up winning anyway. Goodness sakes I HOPE this is not the case in November!

Lip service and a buck will get you a cup of coffee.I contribute to the USO, the DAV, PVA and VFW. No red cross, used to donate to CRS, not any more. The thought about vets and the familys living on the stree3t and in cars, saddens me.And the politicians that never wore a uniform, turning into "hawks" pisses me off. Stupid defense spending also gauls me.When american [so called] contractors farm out manufacture to foreign countrys to save money, they DON'T pass on those savings, they award them selves tax payer paid bonuses. You want to support vets, write a check! Ballots are nice, and free, and like many things that are free, they are worth every penny!

The talaban did NOT ndestroy the trade centers. It was alquedia. Talaban was centered in afganistan, Later they forced into pakistan. The talaban did shelter Al-quedia, and give them training bases in afganistan. Of course the isn't much difference between a lunatic, and a physco. Most of the terrorists in costudy are al-quedia. There was a difference once, now some of the talaban views are spreading around the muslim world.

One in the same..........the war is not against the Taliban or al-Qaeda. It is against RADICAL Islam. If you're radicalized, and IF you want to kill Americans, we will hunt you down and EXTERMINATE you, like the cockroach you are.
