Fished this weekend. Small alewives are all we caught under lights. Gizzards in head of Beaver - I don't think the fish take these as readily.
We found some fish in small pods on main lake 30-50 feet deep. Heard a couple boats got into fish mid creek but we struck out there. Bite was tough.
Good luck
Thanks for the update. Were you pulling boards?
Boards and bottom fishing
Seems the stripers are problematic lately, consider taking along other gear for SM (FNF , jigs, blade baites), LM, KY's and or crappie, etc. That way you got the weekend covered. :)
Fished the upper lake out of Burnside from 1pm until dark. Water temp was 56-58 degrees. Trolled bomber flat A's and Rapalas in 12-20'. Caught a dozen crappie, 7 spotted bass, and 3 really small stripers (No they were not white bass). Hope this helps someone.
Thanks for the report. Friday looks good, but Sat is going to be cold. May be a lot of bottom fishing going on that day.
We did well all weekend caught fish everyday. Pulled boards mid creek in wolf and caney. Seen a lot of bait fish. Most of the fish were around 24" but we did get one that was about 29".
I hope to be fishing Wed/Thurs.....brrrr.
Did you try bottom fishing? How deep were the fish? In what water depth?
Thanks,
We didnt try any bottom fishing. We pullrd boards with 1oz of weight about 40' behind the board. We caught fish in 50' to 60' but the bait and fish seemed to move from 20' to 40' through out the day.
Thanks.
