Well the invite has happened and I'm quite positive Louisville will accept. Very nice move for both programs and other sports as well. Win..............Win for all involved in my opinion..

This couldn't have playe out any better in my mind. While the Big 12 is a little better in football, the basketball is not that great. The other advantage over the Big 12 is the travel for fans. It is a lot easier to get to most schools in the ACC as opposed to going to Austin, TX or Norman, OK. I think it is a better fit for Louisville all the way around. The ACC basketball tournament is going to be crazy. U of L, Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse etc. Wow!
Great day to be a Card fan Mr Tipton..........:) :)
It may be strictly rumor, but I heard in the rumor mill a possible move of Duke, UNC, and Va Tech to the SEC...If it came to fruition, and I doubt it will, the SEC would be top dog in football and probably basketball as well
If it doesn't happen, the ACC basketball tourny would be amazing....I agree a move to the ACC makes a lot more logistically for UL and is a good move on their part....The Big East has completely fallen to shambles and UL is a little late in making the move, but they had to get out of there....The BE has turned into another conference USA

I heard Lachlan McClean say he heard this through the vine as well but said he felt there was no real basis to it at all.
He went on to say that with all this conference shuffling that the rumor's and cooler talk was running absolutely wild. Ya never know I guess, but I can't see why Duke or North Carolina would move to the SEC, what is there to gain for them???

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ That's what all this shuffling is about and football drives it.
I don't think UNC or Duke will leave anytime soon though. UNC released a statement a couple days ago saying the wanted to be in the ACC for another 60 years.
And yes ACC basketball is going to be fun to watch.
If UofL had a chance to join to the Big 12 but decided upon the ACC I think its a big mistake, even if all of UofL's sports teams couldn't join the league.
Yes the ACC is going to freaking crazy in basketball but in my world football is king. Just me tho.
I say this is a mistake because I have been hearing that FSU is going to move to the Big 12 for sure with the possibility of Virgina Tech or Miami going too.
Have also heard that Virgina Tech could be joining the SEC.
Toward the end of tonight's Big 10 Championship game they were talking like Georgia Tech is probably going to join the Big 10.
If UofL felt they had no shot at joining the Big12, then joining the ACC was a great move. But from what I've been reading they could have waited just a bit longer and joined the Big12.
I think the ACC's days are limited. This might just be an interim move for Louisville.
The Big 12 made it very clear they did not want Louisville. Jurich tried very hard, even Mitch McConnell called in some buddies and they couldn't even get it done. It wasn't a choice for Louisville it was a have to.
I have not heard the first word about FS, VT or Miami leaving the ACC????
