And I asked them about my prop if I had the right prop or if I could get a bigger they told me they would let me try different ones and see what I like best reason I asked I got a 1996 21ft stratos w a 225 Johnson on perfect conditions I can only get 65-66 mph on GPS tacking 5500

Is your's stainless I presume?
I've got a 24 pitch on my 19.6 Stratot 200 Venom and it will run 65 and has the timing retarded 6 degrees to prevent over rev, as it will absolutely come out of the water. with a 225 and a 21' boat I would think that a 25 pitch prop would be plenty to get you over 65. Has your timing been retarded? this will make you lose a few top end miles per hour. The only other thing I would be concerned with is.. most shops that let you test props will charge you hourly to be down there with you at (about 90 dollars an hour). If you happen to clip a log/ rock/ ramp or anything else that damages the prop... you bought it... So just be careful... What does the engine mfr say that the optimal rpms are for that engine? if you're running too high your pitch is probably too high, If you're running too low your pitch may be too low.

Most people run a 25" Renegade 4 blade on those, Not the fastest but a great all around prop.
24" Raker "original" is a fast prop and has good hole shot. These are the 2 most common props found on the older big stratos boats. A lot of people really like the Mercury Tempest plus prop. It will be the fastest of these props and possibly of any prop. It has good hole shot and is tunable with their plug system. You will have to buy a hub conversion kit to run it. I would try any of these 3 props if I was you. I run the renegade on mine 201pro xl with a 200hp motor. It worked the best for me because I carry a really heavy load on the boat most of the time. The others were faster but suffered on holeshot because of the weight.
