Happy Birthday Jesus
every where I go people are addressing Christmas, with Happy Holidays, I for one don't care for this, Jesus is the reason for the season, it is to celebrate the Christ Child's Birthday. so I want to wish Jesus a happy Birthday and everyone here and around the world a very Merry Christmas.

People have been saying "Happy Holidays" for decades, but recently people have started complaining about it. Why is that? They started doing it because there are two holidays in close succession, Christmas and New Years, and that's what i'm thinking about when i say it, mostly. There's no reason to be offended by people saying "Happy Holidays," it's not any dig against Christmas. Do people complain when you say "Merry Christmas?" I certainly don't, even though I'm not a Christian. It's somebody wishing me happiness and joy, and I appreciate that, whether or not I share their beliefs. And that's what people are doing when they say "Happy Holidays," too. This whole "war on Christmas" thing exists only in people's imaginations.

I'm a Christian and I agree with you. We complain about "kicking God out of our schools" because that's a lot less messy than asking ourselves if we've kicked God out of our lives.

You finally posted something we see totally eye to eye on.....:)

Hmmmm I don't agree with this. I can't provide proof but IMO it is more about being politically correct. Sure it is the Holiday Season but I don't group them. I say Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
No biggie, I don't lose any sleep over someone saying Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas when I'm checking out at the store but I do say Merry Christmas back.:p

It's true that places that deal with the public have to be careful. I was talking to my boss about this and he said that whenever they send out any emails relating to Christmas it seems like there will always be one or two people complaining that it doesn't include everybody, and the thing is, it's not the non-Christians complaining! It's somebody who actually celebrates Christmas, complaining because they're afraid somebody else didn't get included. So the checkout clerk might be told to say Happy Holidays to ward off that one in 500 people that's going to complain because they're not Christian and someone told them Merry Christmas. Is that worth getting your tinsel in a tangle about? The dude out front ringing the bell is saying "Merry Christmas," isn't he?

One of the central, if not THE central message in Jesus's ministry was "stop focusing on outward things that don't matter. Show other people grace. What matters is what is in your heart." This is why I don't get riled up about "Happy Holidays."

Merry christmas
The neighbor hood we lived in had two big catholic churches. One was roman the other orthodox. So we had two holiday seasons, same as easter. We kept our decorations up untill after the Feast of three Kings[orthodox christmas].We had the bells almost a week. Across from us on the same street, was the home of the minister of the First Baptist church. Our kids played together for years,[excert on sundays].So we always wished each other merry christmas, and were not offended when someone said happy holidays. It was the spirit, not the words
