big blue cat
is this the same fish, that someone on Indiana boards posted a few months back. that was supposed to have been caught in the Ohio river. I remember you guys talking about how big it was, but I can't remember for sure the story about it for sure. but I'm thinking I have it right. anyway it looks like the same fish to me.Wild Wolf Products
Yep same one ...old pic.
thought so, I was looking at big cats on some site a few days ago, and ran across this picture. there was an old picture taken of a big cat caught back in 1914 if I remember right. and the thing was huge. they had it loaded on a wagon pulled by a horse. the question was being asked if it was real or not. from the size of it in the picture they said it must weigh 500 lb or more. if I can find that site again, I'll copy it and post the picture.

I'd love to see the pic.If you can find it. I can only imagine the size of fish in the river before the industrial revolution. Chuck

As much as I want to believe this pic. I would ask a couple few questions. In 1914 what type of line and hook did they use for a 500 to800# critter? If it was a trot line, it had to be run by someone in a boat right??? how do you get a critter that size into a boat?I've had 70,80 pound fish pull me and my boat along way and struggle to land them. Hoistin a critter like that into a boat...well maybe crack was around back then. The guy on the wagon just doesn't look right.I just don't no.I would argue more but coming from a guy that caught an 80# flat on 12#test and a 1\4 oz jig....I ain't say'n nothin....anything is possible.Chuck

I studied this and to me the photo is fake. The guy in the pic must be 3rd tall which is doubtful. That's the beauty of fishing.....lies and legends are born all the time. :) I'm a show me kind of guy, I'll listen or read about that big one but show me the proof!!
