Just watched the UL, UK game on DVR...

And I will tell you this.......

While I'm not a big fan of UK, I'm definitely not a fan of the PRICK Pitino style of hack attack basketball. His style and method of teaching defense has really destroyed the game of basketball.

He did it a UK and I freakin HATED it.......and at UL he does it and I freakin HATE it....

Play defense....fine, but the ******** slap, and push, and bump, and slap, and then bitch about when you get called for a foul is CRAP. It is not defense, and I really wish they'd call that garbage.

If you take away the 4 in a row turnovers UK made during the slapfest, UK wins this game.

It was a pretty badly officiated game both ways as well. They let Louisville play for most of the game and then in the second half the refs started calling things they let them get away with and the Louisville players got in foul trouble quick. I'm not saying that it gave UK or UL any advantage, it was just poorly called and inconsistent.

UK lost the game at the foul line.

I agree it was poorly officiated both ways, despite having one heck of an officiating crew. While ul deserved the win, i thought the play where dieng drug nerlens down could have changed the outcome of the game. Both teams showed signs of being national title contenders and both showed their weaknesses. Id love to see another final 4 rematch like last year

Hmmm George...you are aware that Crean plays almost the exact same way on defense..always has. When he was at Marquette and played Louisville both teams trainers brought extra bandages and gauzes to the bench with them. He is playing that same hard nose in your face defense at Indiana right now to. I'm not a huge Pitino lover but that fouling junk gets overplayed bigtime. Do they foul more than an average team, yes they do, it is as bad as alot folks go on about...No. It also is very comparable to other teams that play the same way.

That fourth foul call on Siva was total crap and the replay proved it, he never even touched the guy. Nerlins Noel was bodying Deing like a rented Mule all game, didn't bother me, thats today's basketball.

Sounds like sore loosers to me. Louisville finally has a better team then Kentucky and nobody wants to admit it. The Cats haven't hit from outside like that all year, take away all those desperation three's and they get pounded. My hats off to UK as they did exactly what I thought they would do, fight like it was their last game on earth and be close at the end. It just amazes me how UK folks see this game and can not for the life of them bring themselves to say Louisville is just a better team this year. Now that Harrow has his pouty skirt off Kentucky is a good basketball team and will be a tough out the rest of the way.

I'll take another final four match up and feel good about Louisville's chances again. That three ball isn't gonna fall like that all the time.

I definitely think that Louisville has the better team right now. The funny thing is that it's probably Pitino's best team ever at Louisville and they were only able to squeek out a 3 point win over Cal's worst UK team.

Whatever dude. Rick's best team was the 2005 team who just rolled out a bad game in the Final four. You couldn't throw UofL a bone if a gun was held to your head. Rivarly games can go either way as kids play their hearts out, everybody knows that.

Louisvile played the last 8 to 9 minutes with their 3 best players with four fouls, hence the three point win and the barage of three's UK hit. Uk is better than everybody thinks and I've said that all year.

UK has blown out Louisville in the "rivalry" game plenty of times....including the last time they played in Louisville.

But...I did say they were the better team. They definitely deserve to be in the top 3.

Louisville has the better team this year, no doubt about in my mind about it. They have athletes and they have experience. Kentucky has athletes, but no experience.

Everyone keeps saying that Kentucky will be a tough out in March. I, for one, don't really see it yet. We'll see.

The 3-ball kept Kentucky in it, as well as some bonehead mistakes by Louisville. I actually thought the game was called pretty evenly, except for the no-call on Dieng late that was a blown call at a pretty critical moment. But, that's the breaks. Kentucky flat out lost at the free throw line. Make your free throws, and we're talking about a Kentucky upset here.

The game was as good as I could have expected, as a Kentucky fan. I think we played close to the best game we've got right now. That's just the cards we're playing with this year...and that's cool. Can't be all-World all the time. :cool: As Kentucky fans, I think we should look back at the BS we endured prior to the Calipari era (Billy DrunkAss G, Tubby the Later Years) and be thankful as can be that we are where we are...coming off an Elite 8, a Final 4, and a National Championship. Not every batch of superstar youngsters is going to be "special" and this year is evidence of that. It's something everyone will have to get used to with the Calipari system at Kentucky. Noel is highly overrated, Cauley Stein needs time and experience, and Harrow is not the PG that Cal is accustomed to having control the floor. Goodwin is awesome, but reminds me of a young Liggins...trying to shoulder too much at the beginning...and Poythress has every ounce of potential to be a beast, but so far is a recluse.

I, for one, knew this was coming.

Oh, and mhall....buddy....amigo....pal-O-mine....are you talking about the call on Siva where he hacked Goodwin on the 3-point shot? (I can't remember if that was foul #4 on him or not.) If so, that one was a foul.

Guys foul on the elbow all the time and I ain't trying to say different but that fourth call was bull, but as you say thats basketball. Now Mark.....I'm not a UK fan or a UL fan...I just love great basketball. Looking at this game objectively, I came away in disgust for the way Slick Rick teaches defense. YOU KNOW the whole objective was to apply pressure defense and see just what you could get away with....hopefully it would lead to enough of a lead to win the game.

THAT garbage they played to go up by 17 was just that.....GARBAGE. No basketball quality what so ever. When they started calling the fouls, UK pulled within a few points, and almost pulled out an upset.

UL's foul trouble nearly cost them the game. Would they have even been in foul trouble without slick ricks method of defense......more importantly, would UL have even been in the game?

Again....I could care two shits about either team. The game was one of the sloppiest games I've seen in a while. I hate the foul fest types of games.

It really wasn't the fouls so much as just general crappy play by both teams. No offensive cohesion, horrible defensive rebounding and tons of mental mistakes. If those two teams play like that in Conference, it's going to be a long year for both of them.

Opinions are just that you have yours and I have mine. Hard nosed defense makes kids try hard and they make mistakes. You accussing Pitino of telling players to go out and tackle people is ********. I am not a Pitino fan but I don't think he does that at all. I think he tells them to cover them like glue and try your best NOT to foul. Kids do that and obviously foul.

If you really think a coach tells his players to ''Go see what you can get by with''...well I I can't see it. If they foul out he and the team looses the game. Your savior Crean does the same thing and always has. His defense is one of the smash mouth in the country and he is known for it. It's one of the reason's they have gotten back to the limelight, that and recuited talent.

Very few on this site will ever give Louisville their due and thats fine I've grown use to it, it is what it is. They could beat the Bulls by 25 and you guys would shoot holes in it.
