Fishing this weekend
No boat so I have to go from the bank. I am going to hit up a lake because the rivers may be blown out by Sat. Anyone think the KY River will be too high on Sat? I am near the Danville area so I will probably go to Herrington lake. Do you think the warm rain water may bring the shad and fish up a little bit?
Looking for any advice or if anyone has been out lately.

There are several nice places to bank fish/wade near danville. What are you looking to catch? This time of year can be tough, especially after a healthy rain due to the creeks washed out. Below is a list of water to look at that is close and should be fish-able this weekend.
1-Cedar Creek
2-Stanford Resivoir
3-Herrington (Stay away from the upper end after rain)
4-Hubble Park lake
5-Millennium Park Lake (Always good for a quick trip)
6-Salt River (Harrodsburg near the water plant should still be fish-able)

Thank you for the input. Why would you say stay away from the upper part of herrington?

I went to the upper end of the lake a couple of weeks ago and it was high and not really in good shape to fish. With the rain this week, I am sure it is the same way. Basically, there was current and that made it hard to fish as slowly as I would like in the winter. What are you trying to catch?

If I go to Herrington it will be for Cats and white bass/ hybrids. I normally set out three poles and cast one. More towards bryants camp area. If I go to Cedar I will probably be fishing for a fish fry so crappies and bluegill. w
