We are considering visiting the Owensboro area for a weekend in June. Any thoughts as to fisheries in the area? Please bear in mind that we will just be looking for bankfishing opportunities.
Appreciate any help we can get.

Dave. There are many places to fish in and near Owensboro. If you have children there are lakes in many of the city/couty parks in particular Fisher Park, Morris Park, Yellow Creek Park, Panther Creek Park. There is also easy access to river fishing at English Park near the downtown. You might want to travel to Carpenters Lake where there is a nice fishing dock. You will love the amazing new park in the downtown area especially if you have children aged 3-12. I hope you enjoy visiting Owensboro,,,,,it is a neat town.
Exactly the kind of info I was looking for, thank you.
I take it the fish available to chase are the usual for the style of waters described? Bass, bluegill, sunnies, catfish, etc?
