I have been all over the KY river. Lock 7, Lock 7 pool, Lock 8. All over. And I cannot catch a sauger. Has anyone been getting into them? Are live minnows the trick?

Fished lock 14 on Wednesday with no luck. Didnt catch a fish. Couldnt find any minnows, thats what I usually catch them on. Maybe still a little early? Water temps were 38-39. Fished jigs with grubs, spoons, blade baits. Maybe next week.

Been fishing for sauger below the dam at Cannelton and Wolf Creek on the Cumberland. Caught nice sauger both places on minnows on stinger hooks attached to heavy jigs with sassy shad trailers.

Greenup Dam on the Ohio River... Sauger capital of KY!
Went out again to Lock 7 and got nothing. Water was at 10.81 in the hydrograph so I was hoping the lower water would help but nothing. Then I made the long drive to lock 8 and got skunked as well. Tough year for sauger.
