Good crappie fishing
Fished the salt river yesterday for some crappie and flat out wore them out. 10 keepers ranging from 10-12 inches and about 20 or 30 more that was short and i just had a blast. fishing with a minnow was the bait of choice with a slip float fishing about 4 to 6 ft deep. Hope the warm weather trend continues because after yesterday i got the fishing fever :D

Where at on the salt? Close to Ohio river or Taylorsville lake? I figured the current was a little too strong still. Thanks

I was fishing right where the river runs into to taylorsville lake. Goodnight bridge to be specific if your familiar with the area. Water was stained and temps ran in the mid 40s. Fishing is probably going to slow down the next couple of days with the rain coming in the water is going to rise. Hope the info helped

Taille crappie
Were u in a boat or on the bank? If in a boat, I wasn't sure about getting up the river from van buren. Would like to take my boys up the river during spring break (in the boat) to try for some white bass. Any info is appreciated.

I just fished from the bank but while i was there another fisherman was in a boat he told me he put in up van buren with no problem the lake was about at about summer pool last i checked so you shouldnt have any problems putting your boat in. I believe the left right side of the river is pretty shallow so just be aware of that. good luck to you and your kid.

lol i meant the right side of the river is shallow.

I've never bank fished at Taylorsville. Are there a lot of places one can do it? Would appreciate any info you can provide.

There are good amounts of wade access all over the lake, adjacent to boat ramps are the most obvious, but just take a look at the WMA map and start there.
