The 2.3% Medical Excise Tax that began on January 1st is supposed to be
“hidden” from the consumer, but it's been brought to the public’s attention by hunting and fishing store Cabela’s
who have refused to hide it and are showing it as a separate line item
tax on their receipts.
From what I read about this.....is that it's kinda true. Cabelas wasn't supposed to show/ charge that tax directly to the consumer. It's "generally" their responsibility to pay that tax but its supposed to be on medical devices????? not sure what that consumer purchased?? Regardless of what happened here the fact is Obamacare is trying to hide a new (tax) revenue stream of 29 billion to help pay for this krap legislation. Like all of us conservatives have said from the beginning you cannot tax companies more without them passing the tax on to you and me and that is what will happen more and more.
Obamacare is a joke....at the expense of you and me. Thanks to all who voted for this turd.
What happened was that, due to a glitch in some new software that Cabela's put into use on 1/1/2013, the excise tax on medical supplies was incorrectly applied to some purchases made there. There is no medical excise tax on sporting equipment, and Cabela's has since corrected the error and refunded the money they collected (or at least offered refunds). It only happened on that one day before they caught and corrected it, but that was enough for internet rumors and chain letters to get started.

Internet rumor........the TAX is true, applying is was false but the TAX is legit.
It is a **** shame that there are folks all over the country still thinking ObamaCare is the savior.
You realize the stop gap fund is out of money,
You also realize the CBO underestimated the cost of ObamaCare by as much as 50%
You also realize that CMS cut Medicare reimbursements by 700 BILLION to pay for ObamaCare.
YOU also realize that DR's all over the country hate it......
YOU ALSO REALIZE that the "gold" versions of ObamaCare actually cost more and deliver LESS than what I actually have through my insurance company....Yea.....LOOK IT UP.

I should also say......ObamaCare will be the downfall for those who VOTED for it for years to come.
In 2014, once the real costs start to mount and once the IDIOTS who voted for it, REALIZE how much they are paying for what they are NOT getting, **** will really hit the fan.
Blue dogs, and everyone else left of center will be begging to join the tea party, or the conservative party, or the independent party, or the republican party........ANYONE who will take them, because democrats will be hung in effigy.

I just read where something like 6 out of 10 doctors surveyed will consider retiring within the next few years. So get ready for the perfect storm of more people being forced into the system and more doctors leaving at the same time. Will be scary if we end up with a genuine shortage of doctors in this country, but it may happen. Hopefully something will change beforehand so that is not the case.

As expected..........Senate Dems vote to PROTECT their AZZ. It is a non-binding vote, but it goes to show that even Democrats HATE parts of ObamaCare.

What's the date have to do with anything?? The point isn't Cabelas making a mistake or if this was fabricated...the point is that this is a tax that according to many would be passed to you. Seems kinda underhanded don't you think from the chosen one who said he wouldn't raise taxes? Now the senate dems are looking closer and finding ways to repeal parts of the law....does this mean the law is finally being read???
