Locals claim it's the home of Eastern Kentucky's Loch Ness Monster!! Be Careful out there if you go!
Sorry, driven by it many times, but never fished there, and don't know anyone who has. You will find technical infor at: http://fw.ky.gov/pdf/lakelinville.pdf and Lake Linville - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, and for more just Google On. Also, KDFWR may have a report on the lake. Good luck and let us know if you go.
Its not a bad lake. Has alot of bass but they are small. Occasional 2#er here and there. Fairly big but narrow. Ive seen 20ft bass boats in there
It can be a very tough finesse bite in summer, but in the spring there are usually some pretty good Largemouth caught & it's also where the state record Meanmouth came from.I have a Buddy that used to fish & was pretty good that payed for his boats fishing tournaments & he has 2 Largemouth right at 8Lbs. from there. One just under & one 8Lb. even. There are Hybrids there now too. It gets a lot of pressure.
Oh haha we have a lake in indiana withe same name forgot i was on the ky thread
Fished it many times but mainly in the Spring. The bite was usually pretty good. We hit the usual spring spots and stayed busy plus with the tournaments out of there it made the area around the dock decent as well.
Aint no fish in that pond!!! HeHe
I used to night fish it now and then... Was always good for a few small-ish bass.
Never will forget watching a couple of drunks lose their truck on the ramp...wasn't anything dry on their truck except for the top 3" of the radio antenna. I caught a 4lb largemouth on a Texas rig about 10' off their back bumper while they had the ramp jammed up waiting for a wrecker at 2am...
