hey guys i live in louisville and looking for some good catfish spots in the river.i have fish the river alot but just cant seem to find the prime catfish spots..i fish off the bank because im scared to put my boat in not knowing the waters that well.....please help me

Welcome to the board.Lots a good guy's on here. As far as good catfishing goes the water temp. in the river has hit 70 degrees so the key to good fishing is have a pole in the water. Fresh bait is going to be the best. Fish are moving pretty good now.Good luck. Chuck

Feel free to put your boat in. Mcalpine pool is pretty easy to navigate. I can't recall any thing treacherous. You can run either side of the islands and use the common sense you would anywhere else and u will be fine. Duffy's landing in Jeff is better than cox's park because there are docks to tie up to. Good luck

That's true concerning the upper dam, but below the upper dam in the area of the fossil beds can be very treacherous. This is true as well in some areas around the lower dam and hydros.
The areas around Cox's park and Duffy's landing (ie up river) as you state are pretty safe to navigate.
