Two weekends ago about 9 est I was droppin some alewives on free line with a small weight in twenty feet of water on a main lake point that had a channel running up against it in the Jamestown area. Got a couple I had to unhook. Had quite a few more take the bait but could not hook them. The bait was pretty big. Shiners may have worked better? You could see them (or something) plain as day on the graph near the bottom. They were moving.
PS If you are not a live bait fisherman a jiggin a small spoon or blade bait may work. Never tried that though but I will next time now that I think about it.
I've caught several of them trolling for other fish near that same point in open water so they must be there a lot. If you pm me I will tell you where that is.
Jigs, tubes, baby brush hogs, worms etc. Midlake on down is fishing better then the east end, but there are still fish being caught on that end too.
