Has anyone been fishing for Hybrids at Guist Creek Lake recently? Been thinking about trying them soon.
I trolled for about an hour late morning this past saturday w/o any luck. My brother caught several small ones earlier in the year bobber fishing so hopefully thats good sign for the future. I haven't had much luck lately trolling for them. Give an updated report if you go!!
Ok will do. My father caught a 12 lb Hybrid back in the spring. He has fished for them a lot over the years, his biggest is 13.5lbs. I have not fished for them for 3 years. I read the KDFWR stocked saugeye in Guist Creek so maybe we will have a new fish to troll for there.
Its been a few years since I have really targeted them this time of the year. In the past, by early July they were out over open water and could be caught trolling between the marina and the dam. I liked bucktail jigs off downriggers (between 5 and 11 feet deep). Crank baits and rattle traps catch them too. In summer time, you won't find them feeding any deeper than 12 feet. Stick with shad imitations.

Where did you read that they stocked Saugeye? I could not find it anywhere. Thanks!
I think I read it in Ky outdoors or Ky game and fish. I also have a cousin that works for the ky fish and wildlife and said some were stocked there and several other smaller lakes. I will see if I can find where I read it.
