I'm planning on goin out fishing monday. Not sure where to go, taylorsville at van buren or guiest creek. I'm thinking the alge problem won't be to bad at van buren because of the movement water in my spots. At the same time it's been 2 years since I was at guiest creek so I'd love to give it a try! Where do I go? Thanks -drew
T-ville is going to be high and muddy.
According to the corps office the lake has rose 4 ft over night and steadily climbing. Muddy water and lots of trash on top the water. Not sure about guist creek though but I'm willing to bet it's not much better
Thanks guys. I've been lookin at reports on here and at guiest creek in coves around the dam shouldn't be as bad as the rest of the lake! Thanks -drew
I just heard that Taylorsville is now closed/ shut down/ gates locked. Due to the algae.

Where did you hear that at?
Saturday evening i was on my way to the settlers trace ramp and some guy was closing the gate. He said it was because of high waters. The state ramp was open.
I'm going to guiest creek anyways so it's ok! I want to know if its shut down or not!!

Fishincreek, the fishing today was fun but nothing over 7 inches was caught:(. Tried trolling by the dam but by then I was 11 in the afternoon. We got thee at 6:30 and saw fish just couldn't catch em! Water was surprisingly clear. My brother saw that the settlers trace marina in taylorsville is closed because of flooding. He said that the water was all the way up to the car parking area at the closest parking lot to the lake. If you haven't been there that's about 15-20 feet above where it normally is! Hope this helped. -drew
To give you an idea of how high Taylorsville is, the porta potty in the parking lot at Settlers Trace next to the boat tie down area is completely under water. Another example, the lone light on the left side of the ramp at the state park is standing in 6 feet of water.
Tville is 16 ft over summer pool so it's pretty nasty and the corps won't open the dam full throttle because the river is already to high so it's going be awhile before the lake gets back to normal levels.
