You ever catch the wrong fish in a tournament?

Yep cats, carp, drum, crappie and bluegill.

Cats, sauger, bluegill, drum, hybrid, crappie...oh, and a rock.

Last year, my partner caught two snapping turtles in a bass tournament while punching the mats.

I had a 5 pound walleye at green during a tournament. I thought I had big fish for sure. It hurt once we netted her.

I knew it was a big fish when I hooked it up but didn't expect to see a drum come to the surface. But this is KY lake and I've caught many drums in the past. So I was not surprised when I pulled it into the boat.

I caught about a 15 lbs boot. That thing fought like crazy.

That is one cool looking fish! I have never caught one of those but while fishing bass tournys at Green River Lake I have had some huge Musky break my heart making me think I had monster Bass on the line for a few moments.

I fish green most of the time and musky arent uncommon, but it usually only takes a few seconds to realize what you have. Caught a few drum an walleye in tournaments. Several bluegill and crappie but you never think theyre bass. At KY lake last fall in a 2 day classic we caught 30-40 drum and they were mixed right in with the bass. The 4-5lb drum broke our heart over and over, the 25lbers not so much. Hybrids mixed in with the schooling bass have broke my heart at barren. Caught a few stripers at cumberland but again, it didnt take long to figure out what i had
