Stealth is an absolute must! Leave your noisy buddies at home!!!! My dumbass friend chucked an anchor into a hingecut where I could see atleast 20 big crappie, and poof, they were gone in a flash!!! They spook real easy, especially when they're shallow.
Thank you very much for the information. I haven't completely figured out how we are going to do this. I am going to have my boat with sonar to find structure on the bottom then we are going to have a couple people fishing from a rental pontoon boat and a couple on my boat. This is one of those trips that started out just me and my dad but has grown to include my two brother in laws and my uncle which is just too many people for my 19ft bass boat.

If you dont care to fish at night Barren has a great hybrid top water bite in april and may. I like to throw a redfin or some type of top water along the bluffs. I would assume you could anchor the pontoon and put lights out and catch them also.
