How do you get clean bills then.........
Lobbyists lead to corruption. That is the root of the issue, but I believe some lobbying is necessary. How do you vet what lobbying is good and what is bad.
What is the test to determine that, and when corruption is involved, how do you STAMP it out?

Why would we care about a President having too much with the line item veto, but don't care when they stand up there and say they have a phone and a pen. Executive Orders were never intended by our forefathers to be used the way our Presidents use them. I cringe whenever a President from either side starts flashing that pen.

You have a point.........
I simply wish there was a way to get clean bills, and a Line Item is a good way to accomplish that, but I see your point. In the case of a majority in the house and senate and a president of the opposite party he could cut stuff being agreed up by both chambers, but he could veto the whole thing too........
AND I think a line item veto would also need a 2/3 majority to back through if it was pushed again. I think for stuff that the house and senate really wanted, THEY would get consensus and push it through again.
No, I think a line item veto is probably the BEST way to get rid of the pork.
